Description: Did you know that approximately 1 million Canadians have a diagnosis of an eating disorder? Eating Disorders are serious but treatable mental illnesses that can affect anyone. People with Eating Disorders are often not diagnosed but suffer significant personal and family distress. The purpose of the workshop is to provide information on how to spot the signs of an eating disorder and how to support some affected. There will be time during the workshop for some interactive activities and discussions as well. Participants will learn how to recognize the early signs of an eating disorder and understand how the post-secondary environment could contribute to the development of an eating disorder. This workshop will be hosted by The National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC) outreach team. NEDIC is a non-profit organization founded in 1985 to provide information and resources on eating disorders and food and weight preoccupation.
