Hi everyone! I'm Daisy, a 4th year PhD student in psychological and brain sciences. I conduct brain imagining studies investigating the biodevelopmental bases of sexual and gender diversity cross-culturally. As the current Chair of Grad Minds, my goal is to increase mental health awareness and create new opportunities to build community among graduate students. In my free time, I love practicing gymnastics, playing the piano, and eating a lot of snacks. Hope to see you at our upcoming events!

    Claire R.K.

    Vice Chair

Hello, my name is Claire (she/her)! I am a 1st year Master's student in the Counselling Psychology (Global Mental Health) program. I had the opportunity to be in several leadership positions during my undergraduate studies, and through them, I grew my passion for being part of my community! In my free time, I like to write, exercise, and watch series or movies. I look forward to contributing to Grad Minds and the OISE community this year!

Hi everyone! I am Ali Raja (he/him), an MEd student in Developmental Psychology & Education at University of Toronto OISE. I am passionate about neurodiversity, inclusion, wellness and developmental psychology, and I am excited to help create welcoming, low-lift wellness events for grad students. I love workshop facilitation and brainstorming fun, student-driven ideas. I am also big on outreach—collaborating with graduate departments and student associations to co-host mental-health and wellness initiatives; organizing informational booths, panels, and workshops with academic units; and hosting events that address graduate student mental health in various contexts. Outside of school, I love biking, nature walks, and going on fun adventures around the city and I am always looking for ways to make a positive difference in the community. I can’t wait to connect with everyone this year!

As part of the Grad Minds team, I hope to encourage people to take care of themselves and eachother throughout both good and bad times. When I'm not studying, you can find me at a local coffee shop, out in nature, or at one of the many concerts Toronto has to offer!

    Haleh A.

    Executive Team Member

Hello to you! :) I'm Haleh, a first year MEd student at OISE studying Curriculum and Pedagogy with an emphasis in Wellbeing. I also have a BSc in Psychology from UofT. It took me 8 years to come back to grad school, so I know how it's like to be a student at UofT with all of its ups and downs and everything in between - especially as an immigrant.

I care deeply about wellbeing especially as a mind-body-soul connection not only on an individual level, but also on an organizational and collective level. I'm here to embody what I've been learning about wellness and contribute to the student community we all belong to here at UofT.

I'm a cat person who loves being immersed in nature and music! I'd also like to promote the value of meaningful friendships and connections as an avenue towards feeling better!
