Description
Drop-in knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and general crafting! Join any time between 8 and 9 pm on Mondays for relaxing time with fellow grad students. We talk about everything and anything while creating wonderful things. Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience and interest level. If you are a veteran crafter looking to hang out with fellow crafters, a crafter who knows the basics and wants to expand, a beginner who has never seen a needle before, or a grad student simply interested in hanging out without crafting, join us! We'll have crafting advice, grad school support, and good conversation!
About Paula
Paula's interest in graduate student support arises from her own experiences in graduate school and her previous work with graduate students. While working toward her Ph.D. through the Centre for Comparative Literature at the University of Toronto, she saw first-hand the resources available to graduate students and took part in growing their breadth and scope. After receiving her degree in 2020, she worked with the School of Graduate Studies at the University of Toronto to continue the support of graduate students by organizing and facilitating a variety of programming, such as MyGPD and the 3MT Competition. Having benefited from graduate student support services, she seeks to offer and extend this support, coordinating academic and professional skills programming in a variety of contexts.
